1, because being a conservative, I usually have the unpopular view and get harassed for it. It's funny how small minded people can be (who particularly believe they are the most open minded) when you tell them you have a different opinion then them. I'm just sayin'...

What song do you listen to when you feel very sad?
I'll listen to a lot of Carole King, Nat King Cole or James Taylor. They just make me happy.

If the only form of transportation left in the world is by animal (horse, mule, camel), where would you live?
Same place. We have lots of roads and you could seriously get anywhere by animal.

On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest, how much do you look forward to your birthday?

Honestly, it depends on the year. Now that I'm older not at all. It falls in the middle of a bunch of other stuff like Valoween, Anniversary, my daughter's birthday, Easter, so it often gets forgotten. It's just really not a big deal anymore.

What is one word you don’t like the sound, spelling, or meaning of?

The F bomb. I just think it's crude. I think it's an offensive word that people just use to shock and because it is so overused like that, it just sounds ignorant. Just my opinion, of course.

Do you wear sunglasses when you’re outside? If so, what does your current pair look like?

No, because I am always losing them. I buy cheap ones that never fit right and wind up giving me a headache. The pair this year was like a Nicole Richie, big dark thing going on.

Main Course

If you were to write a book, to whom would you dedicate it?

It would depend what the book was and who inspired it. More than likely my family though as they would have to be the ones supporting and sacrificing for it.

Dessert

Name a beverage that you enjoy.

Grape juice. It's sweet and tart. It stays on your tongue for a long time too. I just drank some and it was yummy! A bit like communion, but yummy nonetheless.

Plane, get their as fast as possible. A jet would be nice!

This morning. My daughter was sick and up until 1:30 last night and then woke up before 7am today.

Maybe Darth Vader. That would be cool. :)

Who is your favorite news anchor/reporter? Why?

Tom Brokaw. Even though he is much more liberal than I am, there is something about him I like. I like the way he reports. He is also so into history, as I am. I find him fascinating.

If you were to have the opportunity to name a new town or city, what would you call it?

Lillaville. Hey, that could work!

What will most likely be the next book you read?

I think we are about to do a study in our small group on the gifts of the spirit. That would be the next book, I'm sure.

What's the first thing you notice about the opposite gender?

Appearance wise probably height since I'm so short. 5'1 in case you are wondering. Non appearance would be their sense of humor. You can always tell off the bat if someone has one!

What is your usual bedtime? Do you like that, or would you rather it be different?

Between 11 and 12. I'm a night person, my husband is not. It would be nice to be on a more unified scheule.

When it comes to advice, do you give more or receive more?

I give more. I became a social worker, in part, because everyone was coming to me with their problems, and I was a decent listener. I still am.

Describe a memorable meal you've had.

Down the road from us is this little pizza "joint". Little hole in the wall that's been there forever. When we were buying our current home the seller kept telling us how they had the best pizza ever. So, the day we closed on our house, we went down there, got a pizza, brought it back to our house and sat on the kitchen floor eating it. It was really yummy, gooey cheesy and deep dish, mmmm! But the best part was enjoying it in OUR house! Yeah!

Name a work of fiction that affected the way you think about something.

The Earth is Enough, by Harry Middleton. The book gave me a new appreciation for people who love to fish and people in Appalachian type areas.

Dessert
What is your favorite type of fruit juice?

Pineapple. When I was little my grandparents would buy this little cans of pineapple juice and have them for Saturday morning breakfast. I loved that. When I was pregnant with Lilla I found them at Sam's club and that is how I got all my Vitamin C those 9 months!
