Party On!

Ultimate Blog Party 2011

So, unless you live under a blogging rock, you know that the ultimate blog party is going on over at 5 Minutes for Mom right now. I've joined in every year they've had the party, I think, and met a bunch of my followers and bloggy friends over there. So, I knew I had to join in once again for more fun!

First off, please get comfy and try one of the delicious snacks Lil and I made just for you!

For those of you coming over from the party, introductions are in order...

I'm Amy. I knew you'd never guess from my blog title. I blog occasionally. That may be putting a little mildly. I go in spurts. I'll post several times in a week and then I might go a week or three with nada. I'd rather have something interesting for people to read than having people scroll through my posts because of the yakking, so there ya have it. Hopefully a little goes a long way here.
This is my first born yahoo, Lilla. She's just turned 5, is as small as a peanut, she loves pink and anything princess. She never ceases to amaze me with her thoughts on life, God and the world. She often takes my breath away so I find myself blogging about her a lot. She keeps us on our toes and stirs our hearts to love God more. She is super Lilla!

And this is my Anna. She is a 2 year old ball of fire. She is strong willed, silly, rambunctious and full of hugs and kisses. She is ready to take on the world at all times and anything Lilla does Anna thinks she can do better! Her favorite things are small stuffed animals and milk. At anytime of day you will usually find one, if not both, on her. She is Anna banana!

And, of course, no post about me would be complete without showing you my better half. This is Michael, the hubs. He's strongwilled, kind and 100% boy! God bless him in a house of girls. Even the dog is a girl here! He's all about Colts football, sci-fi and the stock market. I don't have a clue about those things, but we make it work anyway. Oh, and he also lost 50 lbs in 3 months this past winter, he's looking saucy now!

A few other things about me...

I take an obnoxious amount of pictures.

I'm a homeschooler. We started out last year with preschool and are doing kindergarten with Lilla this year. It's a daily challenge that often has me wondering, "What was I thinking?" I wouldn't change it for the world.

I'm being shredded by Jillian Michaels right now. The Sadist.
I'm going to Hawaii very shortly with just my husband. Woo hoo!
Just a month later I'm going a mission in trip to work in an orphanage Haiti. Wow.

Finally, we try to live our lives for Christ. He is our only hope. Our life, our breath, the only thing that often keeps us going. He is our everything.

Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope that you will meander around a bit and don't forget to say hi! I'd love to visit you too! Oh, and I'd love for you to follow me...just click over on the button to your right!

Happy partying!

Hi Amy! Praying right now for you in the "shredding". I hear it is all kinds of painful! But Hawaii...what motivation!

My husband and daughter were on their way to Haiti when only 12 hours before their scheduled landing -the earthquake happened. Our hearts are there - May God bless you!

You are completely cute and love your wit!

Have a great #UBP11

I love to hear what 5 year olds have to say about God too. It makes me so happy to hear my children discuss God because it shows to me the one thing I know Im doing right in raising them.

Our church has a kitchen in Haiti and has come back with video of what its like. You are in for an eye opener as the country needs so much help.

Nice to meet you

Your daughters are so cute! And I'd just like to say that I am very jealous of your impending vacation to Hawaii. By yourself (and husband, of course). Hawaii is nice, but it's the alone part that sounds wonderful.

Kristi Stephens said...

Your trips sound amazing - although I am more jealous of you going to Haiti than Hawaii. :) I was in Haiti twice back in the late 90's and it really did change my life. Give those sweet kids as many hugs as you can - you'll carry them with you forever!

So nice to meet you - and your daughters sound lovely! :)

I can't wait to hear more about your trip to Haiti! Your pictures are wonderful, visiting from UBP

Thank you for stopping by my blog. Please stop by again anytime. I love visits and comments.

I have the 30 day shred. Wow, it is hard!

Have a blast in Hawaii. We went to Oahu in December and loved it.

I am doing preschool right now with my 3 year old. She loves it. I am excited about doing K one day. I might do PreK one more year with her.

Blessings!

I have an Anna, too, but mine is 13 now. They grow up so fast. I'm going to say what everybody always says "Enjoy every moment with them. They grow up so fast!"

Hi Amy

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Its great to meet you. We have a couple of things in common... I love to walk about barefooted too! I have four girls.. no boys here either.. and my youngest, four, whose name is Lillie, is called Lilla by my household.

Your children are so cute and I absolutely loved the Anniversary blog you did. As they say.. a picture says a thousand words. As for tattoos, my own college daughter recently did a red phoenix on her shoulder.. its large enough to cover part of her chest too. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. Maybe someday she'll be thinking like you... maybe not. She claims the phoenix reminds her of the resurrection, when we shall be reborn from ashes. Profound, isn't it?

Great to meet you. Happy blogging!
