Rock Star

The other day, a friend from high school (about a bajillion years ago!) posted a picture from us at prom.

This picture.
Now, don't be jealous now, but I was the one in the middle. :)

Lilla saw it and after pondering her oh so fabulous, 18 year old momma responded, "Mom, is that when you were a rockstar?"

Why yes, yes, it was.

I knew there was a reason I kept that kid around!

Mr. Behr

So yesterday was April 1st. Did you know?

Me: Hey, you have a message. Mr. Behr called and he was really insisted on talking to you.

Michael: Mr. Behr? How do you spell that?

Me: Behr...like the faucet company.

Michael: How do you pronounce that?

Me: Bear...(I was going to say he was so pushy I felt like he was growling at me but I didn't want him to catch me!)

Michael: Uh, ok...(starts dialing and then a very strange expression on his face) Brookfield Zoo?

He, he! I crack myself up!!

Friday Funny

So the last few days have been filled with lots of runny noses, watery eyes, high temperatures and an all together feeling of yuckiness for my poor peanut. So we've been laying in bed watching lots of movies, going through ridiculous amounts of Kleenex and cuddling for hours on end.

I think she is on the mend but there is still a bit of a cough, a low grade fever and a runny nose. I've been giving her a Children's Cold and Allergy medicine, grape flavored liquid, that she seriously likes, and seems to work for everything but the fever.

So a few minutes ago, I hear next to me in this pathetic little stuffed up voice, "Mommy, I need my medicine to get my boogies out." Followed up by, "I don't like boogies."

Me either Lilla, me either!

And earlier she was standing on a stool in the kitchen when I suddenly realized how itty bitty she is. (I can forget that sometimes) So I said to her, "Lilla, you are so tiny!" She looked at me and announced, "I not tiny, I a big sister!"

And, how cute is that?

Monday Funnies

At MOPS on Friday, when I went to pick up the peanut, the workers were all commenting to me on what a character the peanut is. This is no surprise to me as I have been told it many times before. She provides the entertainment I tell you. For example:

On Sunday at church, we had her sitting with us during worship, there was a quiet moment when all of a sudden she stands on the pew and announces to anyone who might be listening, "The racoon killed the chicken." Completely unprovoked, we have no idea where it came from. Giggles were heard all around.

Then we were on the road, my husband was driving and paying attention to things off the road. We almost went off roading at this point so I said, "Michael pay attention to the road." Just then I hear from the backseat, "Daddy needs to pay attention to the road."

Finally, my most favorite of the day, we are driving to Michael's parents for the day and decided to grab something to eat on the way since lunch wouldn't be for a few hours. I couldn't decide what I wanted when I hear a little voice behind me say, "We need to eat at Taco Bell for Daddy." Particularly funny since my husband is always saying, "Let's just go to Taco Bell." Yeah, she sure is my little sponge!

What is making you laugh today?

Whew...

I am tired. I mean really tired. The kind you just feel like you could sit down and just melt into a chair. Pure exhaustion. I've been this way for awhile now. On Wednesday I went in for my 28 week check up. I had to have blood drawn, get a flu shot and my Rhogam shot. (I'm Rh Negative) The nurse called me with the test results today and not only may I have gestational diabetes, I am also borderline anemic. Ah ha, that explains a lot!

So, I need to make a trip to the store for some green leafy vegetables and start eating a whole different diet. Hopefully it will give me more energy, it's just so lagging right now. And, that is hard when you have the world's most active 2 1/2 year old living in your home!

Today she was a crab apple and just fussy, fussy, fussy! I finally said to her, "Lilla, you wear me out!" You know what she said in reply? "Mommy, YOU wear ME out. That not nice." And that my friends, is how I keep laughing!

My aching back

So recently I have been telling the peanut I can't pick her up as often because my back has been hurting. Totally true as I have normal backpain and with the added pull from my big ole belly, it's not good to be lifting this extra 25 lb. kiddo. Still, I do, as she is short and needs to be lifted for some things.

Anyway, she has been wanting more and more to do things on her own lately. "I do it by self Mommy", is what I hear all the live long day. Particularly to get out of my car, which sits pretty high, so I still stand nearby.

Well today, I was in a bit of a hurry to get her out and in the house when I began picking her up. She replied, "I do it by self Mommy...your back hurt." Oh, she kills me!! :)

Uh...YEAH!!!

So being that my husband just asked me, "Are you SURE you're pregnant?" I just had to post this cartoon. For all of those other bloggers on the Dollar Tree pee test train with me, this, is too funny. :)

All the small things

So this post is just one for me to have later to remember the adorable things the peanut is doing right now.

Last Wednesday she held a worm for the first time. I was digging up weeds and found one so I called her over. She thought it was interesting as she watched it wriggle and move in my hand. And yes, it's kind of creepy to me to hold worms but I want her to experience life so I do it anyway. She touched it and giggled and then pulled her hand away because of that smoothly wet weird feeling a worm has. I then encouraged her to hold it so she did and just thought it was so neat. How fun is it to experience life like that for the first time?

Then later in the day I found a ladybug and I showed her that too. She was enamored by the ladybug and insisted on holding her, talking to her, walking around with her for the longest time. I'm sure the poor bug was absolutely terrified at this giant walking around cuddling it like a teddy bear. It was pretty adorable I have to say. I wish I had my camera at that point but some moments just can't be caught.

I have no idea where she picked up this next thing, but we've noticed lately she's says, "Go away" as she points at you. At first we were totally insulted as it seemed pretty rude she's telling someone to go away. Apparently she has misunderstood the phrase though and actually means, "Don't sit there, sit here instead." She is too, too much!
One of the best parts of my day lately though has been watching the peanut chase her daddy around yelling, "Roar!!" at the top of her lungs and with her hands up in claw postition. Seriously, that should be caught on camera. It's hilarious! Particularly if you could see how small she is compared to my 6 foot 2 husband!

She has also discovered the fun of jumping on beds. Although she doesn't exactly jump yet, she kind of squats a bit and bounces back up. It's truely hilarious. So the last two days I've caught her doing this faux jumping on my bed while staring at herself in the vanity mirror. The first time she was watching herself singing, very loudly mind you, "Ma-ter...Sav-or...Je-Us" Oh my gosh how cute was that? Then yesterday it was, "Je-Us Love Me...Know...Bible...So". I mean really, did I ever REALLY laugh before I had her?

Saturday Photo Hunt - Practical

For my bachelorette party my friend got me this pair of underwear that says Booty Queen on them. What can be more practical than underwear, right?

My daughter's crib goes from a crib to a toddler bed to a twin bed. That's pretty practical.
