Spring is here, the sky is blue...

OK, so spring isn't actually here, but we did get a bit of a peek at her today. We ran around, played with the melting snow, got on the swings, scooped up doggy poop (which, clearly, was not my favorite part!) and just enjoyed the sun on our faces. Lilla's pants, shoes, gloves and behind were completely drenched and muddy from being out there, but I still had to drag her in. I think she's about as ready to be out there as I am!

Our chickens are producing again so that has been another fun part about the impending spring. We hadn't had eggs from them since the fall so it is nice to see those brown oblong shaped yummies once again! I love when they produce a lot because then we are able to share them with friends and family and they are always well received!

What do you enjoy about the warmer weather?

we are definitely glad to see the sunshine and impending spring around our house! we didn't quite make it outside yesterday...but hopefully this afternoon! elizabeth did, however, manage (in the short time between the door of a restaurant and the van) manage to find a rock...which she proceeded to eat (yep)...does that count as enjoying the outdoors?

You have chickens?! I'm SO jealous. I have a real "thing" about chickens. Probably because I livein the city and have never lived with them. Near them. You know. But it is one of my secret desires, to some day own chickens.
When its warm I open all the windows, throw the kids outside, and enjoy the very distant sounds of them playing while I putter quietly. I am definately enjoying having slightly older children!

We had one of those mornings today - it involved lots of mud in the football field behind our house :) I love that you have chickens! MAN that would be great. I have a dairy near my home deliver me farm fresh chickens every week, but from my very own yard would be even better!!

I'm sooooo ready for spring! My family had chickens growing up.... ah, I miss country life. Living in a neighborhood isn't as cool as I thought it'd be when we bought this house right after we got married. I'm anxious to find a place with a real yard soon!

Oooo~ fresh eggs would awesome, but I could do without the mess :-P
Spring has sprung around here as well- I've been out digging & feeding everything left in the garden & planning out the drip irrigation plans. My tree out front went from bare branches 2 weeks ago to full buds by this week; I've been out taking pictures of the progress each morning. I take a lot of photos in the Spring- the green hills, clear blue sky, flowers popping up everywhere.

Sleeveless and shorts are what's fun about the warmer weather, and being able to walk anywhere with my kids.

We had a short glimpse yesterday as well, even though it was still very chilly and there is still ice in our yard, just seeing the sun and being able to go for a bundled up walk was so nice! I cannot wait to be able to go outside without layers (but this am I awoke to it snowing again, so I think it may be awhile) :P

What I love about the warmer weather is the smell of "outside" on my kids' skin.
