This week we went to the state fair. Always a fun time I look forward to every year. Lots of animals, fried foods, people, music and random eye candy to boot! Of course I took lots of pics, so I thought I'd share a few.

Banner help

Since a few of you have asked, I thought I'd give you the big old secret to my banner. Photoshop. Yup, it's just good old Photoshop. It allows you to choose pictures and put them in different ways, I then cropped it and had to put it in photobucket.com to make it smaller. There is probably a way to do it in Photoshop, in fact I'm sure there is, I just don't understand photoshop that well yet. Seriously complicated. My husband was so kind to buy me a book about it for Christmas I've just not taken the time to really sit down and read it yet. Probably any photo program like photoshop or Corel could do it. They are kind of expensive but if you like photography like I do it's worth it to get to play with your photos and make them kind of cool.

Talk to me baby

I am sorry for how odd this post looks. I have no idea why I cannot fix it to look straight, I just can't. I've tried multiple times but I'm just done now as I'm getting aggravated. Also, some of the paragraphs are spaced right and some aren't. Who knows why...the post is possessed I suppose. :) Anyway, it still reads the same and the pics are all in...so it will be fine...I suppose...So, on with the post...

Everyday I am blown away with the new words the peanut is saying. I have no idea where she is getting it all from. For instance, she realized there was a moon in the sky for the first time last night and she pointed up at it and said, "Sun." I said, "No, that's the moon." She replied, "Moon, moon, moon."



Then today, she was looking at her placemat that has Sesame Street all over it and said, "Cookie Monster." Completely correct too, by the way. Which is interesting since all of Sesame Street she wants to see is Elmo. I haven't a clue how she knew that. The even more hilarious part is that she insisted on 'feeding' Cookie Monster her bacon.


Then, there was a sun on the placemat and she insisted on putting her cup on it saying, "Sun, Sun!"

So yeah, this has been a week of new words. It's like that sometimes, she will come out with a ton of new words several days in a row and then suddenly it seems to dry up for awhile and then out of nowhere she does it again. This is definitely a fun week for words though! I constantly find myself trying to decipher something new as her little utterances turn into syllables, words and now sentences!


She's working on colors now. She knows blue and yellow usually. The other colors she likes to say the name of but doesn't usually pick them out herself. Pu-pa is a personal favorite. It's a work in progress.




We are also working on counting. She's only said, "One", a couple of times. She usually likes to start with two. And she's usually right when she's counting her blocks. "Two, three, five, eight, nine..." She could count like that all day. She really enjoys it.






The other thing she has been saying lately is "Cheese" when I go to take a picture. She's showing you cheese in the picture where she's wearing my blue crocs. Oh, that's her other big thing, wearing mommy's shoes. Yeah, she's ALL girl!





You know, there have been a lot of hard days with the peanut lately. She's is becoming more independent. Constantly asserting it with us and letting us know she wants to be in charge. She gets fussy and hates to go to bed at night. She's screaming in bed as I write this to let us know she does not want to go to bed right now! She loves water and will fight you to let her wash her hands for long periods of time in the middle of food establishments yelling, "SOAP, SOAP!!", she still won't eat anything new, I could go on...and on...and on...





However, the positives are far outweighing those hardships. I just know these days are precious and few as I watch my little peanut grow into a beautiful little girl. She's learning so much, developing her own thoughts and feelings, showing love in new ways all the time. I just have such a feeling of gratitude for the time I get to spend with her. And, it's all too fast, just too, too fast!!

These are the crazy times...

Life has just seemed too busy for blogging lately. I keep forgetting to even go to my blogs so I apologize that I am not visiting. I actually can't even stay now, I am going to be late for church if I don't jump in the shower in the next minute or so. I just wanted to post this hilarious picture. I don't know why I find it so funny, it just makes me laugh. We went to the new Johnny Rocket's at the mall yesterday and the peanut had a blast just goofing off and watching the server's dancing to Stayin' Alive. Good times! Autumn Photo Shoot

Today the peanut and I had a little photoshoot in our backyard. There were a lot of pictures taken but let me just tell you how there were few smiles. She was definitely not in the mood for it. I think this is going to be the last day warm enough to do one in this dress, and I've waited over a year for her to wear this dress, so I just had to get it done today. However, there were a couple of random smiles so I think I got 2 or 3 good ones out of the bunch...what do you think?

I think she's pretty darn tooting cute if I do say so myself. You know, not that I'm biased or anything like that! :)

These are a few of my favorite things...

So tomorrow (Friday) for MOPS we are supposed to bring in our favorite thing. Something from our home that we love, whether priceless financially or priceless to us for sentimental reasons, just something that we really love. I've been thinking about it, maybe my scrapbooks, or pictures, they are my favorite things for sure. But I couldn't decide which or what. Then I finally got it...my camera! It kind of encapsulates the whole thing since without it I wouldn't even have the former.
I love my camera. It's a Canon Rebel XT and it is really a great camera. I do wish it were smaller as there is no way that thing is going in my purse, but it takes great pictures and I really do love it.
I was also thinking about how I have very few shots of me since I am always the one behind the camera. Even when the peanut was really little, there are like three pictures of me with her. Bummer. So, today, on what may be the last warm day we have for quite a few months (it was like 80 today and is supposed to hit a whopping 65 tomorrow!) I took a few outside shots.
