Good Theology

The peanut and I have been talking a lot about the nativity lately. I tell her about Jesus, his birth and his family. As we get closer to Christmas I hope she will have a better understanding of the real celebration, rather than the man made one.

Anyway, I was quizzing her the other day on what she has learned and here's how the conversation went...

Me: Who is Jesus' mom?

Peanut: Mary

Me: Who is Jesus' dad?

Peanut: God

I was looking for Joseph, but I must say, that is pretty good theology for a 2 1/2 year old!! :)

It doesn't get much better than that, Amy.

I've finally figured it out, duh, that you are having a C-Section. Here I was hoping Anna would be born on my bd but you have it all planned out already! That's right, right?

Praying for as easy a time of it as you can get, dear sister. gail

Just wait until she is 5 and she asks if God is Mary's husband. That is when it gets tricky. "No, see Joseph was Mary's husband but God is Jesus's father..."

Thank you sooo much for praying for my friend Melissa. We are all pretty devastated. I haven't even gotten to talk to her yet.

God is good.

Found your blog while clicking around.
So cute. Our son loves the baby Jesus. I hope that he is able to see beyond the presents and really see that we are celebrating the birth of our savior.

Talk about a "spot-on" answer--though one feels sorry for poor Joseph. They guy does the right thing and always gets left out. I mean, he disappears soon after the temple incident, and doesn't get anywhere near the praise of Mary.

I wonder how he felt, when, probably in Heaven he saw Christ die. Powerful stuff.
